Cropped!
In the last newsletter, it was mentioned that we were working on a way to automatically add crops to the output of Windows packages which don't support them.
We're pleased to be able to announce that Major (our programmer extraordinaire) has finished version 1, and it works so well that we sometimes use it for packages that do have their own facilities - because ours is better.
Cropper has been tested on MS Word, MS Works, Excel, Quattro Pro and a number of other packages. And it gets around problems with packages such as MS Publisher - which doesn't allow cropping of an A4 page on anything less than A3!
Crop marks may not seem to be much of an issue, but if you have a lot of pages in say Word for Windows and you want to go straight to bromide, you have a very big job on your hands to impose the pages ready for printing if you have nothing to guide you. Measuring every page is not funny if there are hundreds of them!
Cropper Version 2 is already in the pipeline to cater for Wordperfect (DOS) and hopefully other popular DOS packages.
If you have a job which needs to be cropped, just let Mark or David know when you being the files in, there will be a 10% surcharge on the page rate to cover the cost of the extra processing.
