Newsletter #9

Welcome to Newsletter #9!

The past few months have seen so many changes for IBM desktop publishers - we have been playing new versions of Pagemaker, CorelDRAW!, Corel Xara, Corel Ventura and MS Publisher. All these learning curves make it rather difficult to find time to write a newsletter...

But here we go, with a bit of a look at some of the new packages, some (hopefully) useful how-to articles and our first on-line crossword puzzle.

Contents:

[###]Cover Story - CorelDRAW! 7 and Corel Xara
[###]Adobe Upgrades
[###]What is a bromide and why do I need one?
[###]Guidelines for greyscale scans
[###]Recovering corrupt Pagemaker files
[###]Spot colour with Publisher
[###]FTP is easy!
[###]The Desktop BBS - Delays, delays...
[###]Pagemaker - Linking Graphics
[###]Times New Roman
[###]Try out our crossword puzzle!
[###]Web resources for desktoppers
[###]Deep Etching with Corel PhotoPaint 6
[###]Getting it Right - Australian Made

The Newsletter is published quarterly by Type Tamer, the IBM bureau, to assist and amuse IBM desktop publishers. The printed edition has a distribution of over 2000 copies to printers and desktop publishers in Western Australian. It is not possible for us to mail printed copies outside WA, but there is an Acrobat version, for those who would like to make their own.
